Hi, I’m Amanda, and I believe deeply in the power of trauma-informed care and a therapeutic experience that honors your individuality, your pace, and your capacity for healing. I completed my Master's in Social Work from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and was a dual enrolled student at the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences, in Rochester, Minnesota. During my graduate studies, I also completed my RYT 200 teacher training through SOYA and EMDR training through Trauma Recovery EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs.
As a trauma-informed therapist in Michigan, I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic illness. I offer online therapy throughout Michigan that is both compassionate and clinically grounded.
My work is also shaped by my experience providing trauma-focused care within domestic violence and sexual assault non-profits in Michigan and Oregon. In these settings, I supported individuals navigating complex trauma and the lasting impact of interpersonal violence. My advocacy and crisis counseling work in these fields deepened my commitment to offering care that is compassionate and rooted within social justice principles.
Additionally, I hold a Master’s degree in Critical Theory from the Pacific Northwest College of Art, where I received advanced training in psychoanalytic thought and cultural critique. This background informs the way I understand the broader systems that shape our experiences; recognizing how identity, power, and societal pressures can influence mental health, self-perception, and the healing process.
Together, these experiences allow me to approach therapy with both clinical depth and a nuanced awareness of the contexts that shape each person’s story. Allowing me to create a space that feels thoughtful and inclusive.
During graduate school, I was dual-enrolled at the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences in Rochester, Minnesota. As a clinical social work intern, I received advanced clinical training working with individuals living with chronic illness across the lifespan.
At Mayo Clinic, I worked closely with patients navigating:
Complex and chronic medical conditions
Autoimmune disorders and cancer
Neurological conditions and traumatic brain injuries
I also conducted research on the effectiveness of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) for individuals recovering from head trauma.
This experience continues to shape my work today, allowing me to understand not only the emotional impact of trauma—but also the deep connection between physical health, the nervous system, and psychological well-being.
With over 15 years of experience in trauma treatment and prevention, I offer an integrative approach that combines:
EMDR therapy to process and reframe distressing experiences
Trauma-informed CBT to shift patterns in thoughts and behaviors
Therapeutic yoga and mind-body practices to support nervous system regulation
This work is not about quick fixes, it’s about creating meaningful, lasting change that aligns with who you are.
I believe that symptoms like anxiety, depression, and trauma responses are not signs of something being “wrong” with you. They are adaptive responses shaped by your experiences.
In our work together:
You won’t be rushed or pushed beyond your readiness
Your experiences will be met with curiosity, not judgment
Therapy will move at a pace that feels safe and sustainable
My role is to create a space where you can begin to understand your patterns, reconnect with yourself, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
I am committed to providing inclusive, affirming therapy in Michigan. Jupiter Healing supports individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities.
I offer specialized care for:
Women’s mental health
Gender identity exploration
Life transitions and identity development
You deserve a space where you feel fully seen, respected, and supported.
My clinical experience in medical settings allows me to bring a deeper level of understanding to clients navigating:
Chronic illness and autoimmune conditions
Cancer-related stress
Medical trauma
Identity shifts related to health
This is a space where your physical and emotional experiences are treated as interconnected, not separate.
Clients often seek out my work because they are looking for more than traditional therapy. They are looking for:
A trauma-informed therapist in Michigan who understands complexity
A provider with medical social work insight
A holistic, mind-body approach to healing
A space that feels both safe and deeply attuned
Whether you are beginning therapy for the first time or continuing your healing journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
I offer online therapy across Michigan, making it easier to access consistent, high-quality care from the comfort of your own space.
Healing doesn’t require you to have everything figured out, it begins with a willingness to be supported.
If you’re looking for a trauma-informed EMDR therapist in Michigan who integrates clinical expertise with a thoughtful, holistic approach, I invite you to reach out when you feel ready.
